MaryB's first published fanzine was
The Vaslovik Archives, produced in 1976. Her partner in the venture was her lifelong friend, M. K. Davis. The focus of the zine was the other projects of Gene Roddenberry, but especially the 1974 pilot
The Questor Tapes. Many of the submissions were from fellow members of the group that put on the historic August Party conventions, and included Gary 7 (from the
Star Trek episode Assignment: Earth), and
Genesis II/Planet Earth fiction and art. The zine ultimately ran 6 issues, plus a special edition collecting Peter A. David's
Questor/Gary 7 crossover series, "The Devil's War."

Alpha Log
Alpha Log was the club fanzine for the Space: 1999 club, Main Mission Alpha. In the late '70s, many zines were published as part of a club's activities, and Main Mission Alpha was no different. The zines were pubished annually, and distributed to all active members as part of their club membership. Main Mission Alpha was born at one of the early Star Trek conventions in New York City. Mary Bloemker was originally the club vice president, but took over responsibility for the club from the founder when she moved west, and began publishing the club zine with issue #2, with assistance from the club VP, G. Paradis and other local friends. At the time, the club had over 200 members across the US. Each issue would contain art, stories, poems, limericks, articles, crossword puzzles, and more submitted by club members. The club zine ran for five issues, ending with the fifth issue in 1981.

Faces of Time, Castrovalva, and Well Met in Time and Space
MaryB was a big fan of British SF (aka telefantasy), and she embraced Doctor Who enthusiastically. At the same time, she was a fan of Blake's 7, Sapphire and Steel, and The Tomorrow People, among other programs. But once she got the rest of us hooked on Blake's 7, she was happy to let the rest of us produce zines in that fandom while she played in Doctor Who for a while. Her first foray was Faces of Time, followed by Castrovalva. Well Met in Time and Space collected Doctor Who/Battlestar Galactica stories by MaryB and Mary Fall Wardell that had been published elsewhere into a single volume.

Maelstrom
One of MaryB's greatest passions was Shadow Chasers, and her body of work in the fandom is significant. Much of her Shadow Chasers work graced the pages of Mary Fall Wardell's zines Prime Time and Shadow Chasers Express. MaryB also had Shadow Chasers stories in a number of other fanzines, both Shadow Chasers only, and multi-media. For more of her Shadow Chasers fiction, see the Fiction link. For everything you'd like to know about Shadow Chasers, go to MaryB's Shadow Chasers Home Page.

Maelstrom
A novel in three parts, Maelstrom is an emotionally charged and deeply cathartic story. In some ways, this is MaryB's masterwork.

The Temporal Times
Whether it was Doctor Who, Voyagers! or Quantum Leap, MaryB loved a good time travel story. The Temporal Times provided a wide open canvas for adventures in time.
